Woodland & Riverside Walk
Come and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of our woodland and riverside fairy walk, suitable for all ages. Watch out for the wildlife that lives in and passes through our forest – chipmunks, squirrels and numerous woodland birds have been seen in the area.
The forest has lain undisturbed for decades and the native Nova Scotian Flora abounds throughout the year. In May we have our daffodil walk, with more bulbs added every year. A bluebell wood has been planted – it will take a few years to naturalise, but in time it will grow to fill the forest floor with a carpet of blue flowers! And in 2023 we added our fairy walk! The walk includes an old spruce plantation, hardwood trees and areas covered in ferns.
You can stroll along the riverside – where in Spring you’ll find an array of daffodils blooming along the blooming, birds too many to mention, muskrats, beavers, porcupine and deer have all been spotted on our walk. Relaxing and stress relieving we’ve been told and, taking around 20 minutes, with only minor sloping areas it’s ideal for young children and those that find uphill hiking a chore! Free Entry to the woodland daffodil and fairy walk.
