Admired for the beauty of its dazzling flowers, Bracteantha, more commonly known as everlasting flower or strawflower, is a summer bedding plant, boasting daisy like flowers, up to 2″ across, adorned with a central yellow disc surrounded by glossy petals in brilliant shades of yellow. The petals are as stiff as paper, unfolding to form a concentric ring. Blooming from late spring until the first frost, they look wonderful in the sunny border. They make wonderful cut flowers, and are known as the everlasting flower, because when they are cut and dried they keep both their shape and rich colour.
