The Yellow transparent is incredibly hardy and has good disease resistance. It was very popular with homesteading in the past due to its resistance to harsh winters, and fast ripening – making it the earliest apple to harvest in July. It went out of fashion with the increase in global trade – however if you are looking to become more self sufficient the Yellow Transparent will fill a gap in homesteading fruit production, when other fruits are far from being ready for harvest. Yellow transparent are not good for fresh storage – lasting around a week, and unlike fall apples they have a different texture due to the fast ripening process.
This product is a 2 year old tree – it comes as bare root stock and will require immediate planting upon receipt.
