Rich in many qualities, Hosta Blue Mouse Ears, is a small and adorable perennial forming an open mound of horizontal, thick, nearly round, rich blue green leaves, up to 3″ long (8cm). Racemes of striking, rich violet, bell shaped flowers, adorned with lavender stripes, appear in mid-summer, rising on pale green scapes 8″ long (20cm). Reasonably pest tolerant, the compact size and moderate growth rate of Blue Mouse Ears makes it an ecellent choice for containers and small gardens.
Grow in partial to full shade, in moist but well drained soil. Ideal for beds and borders, edging, patio and containers, small gardens and underplanting of shrubs such as roses.
