Regarded as one of the best purple day lilies, award winning Hemerocallis Bela Lugosi is a med-season Daylily that produces profuse blooms of large 6″ wide (15cm), rich purple trumpets with a contrasting lime-green throat. Sunfast, each flower typically lasts no more than 24 hours (hence the common name Daylily), opening up in the morning and withering during the night, often replaced by another one on the same flower stalk the next day. Nicely branches (up to 4 branches), it has a high bud count. This tetraploid daylily is semi evergreen.
Grow in full sun to partial shade, in moist but well drained soil. Rabbit and drought tolerant. Ideal for beds and borders, edging, ground cover, patio containers and planters.
