Narcissus Daffodil Fortissimo is certainly a show stopper with its extremely large 5″ flowers. It has bright yellow blooms with a red-orange cup to the centre with slightly frilly edges. It is the perfect choice for naturalizing (spreading) in your garden beds and borders or in wood lots. They make a wonderful cut flower! The name Narcissus comes from the Greek word for narcotic and is tied to the myth of a young man known as Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection. When he drowned in the pool where he had been admiring himself, Narcissus flowers grew up around the pool. They are used at Ashton’s Garden Centre to line the path on our woodland and fairy walk. They are great for shady woodland, or in full sun. Daffodils are both deer and rabbit resistant making them ideal for our area.
