Probabaly the most widley grown cultivar of crocosmia, award winning Lucifer produces decorative clumps of erect pleated leaves and brilliant wands of fiery scarlet red tubular flowers which bloom for up to 8 weeks from mid to late summer. Extremely showy, this Sotuh African native is a magnet for hummingbirds and butterflies. It’s vibrant blossoms give way to seed pods that persist into fall and attract hungry birds.
Plant in full sun or partial shade, in moist but well drained soil. It is deer, rabbit, drought, salt tolerant and is ideal for city, cottage, formal, informal and coastal gardens.
