An heirloom colombine variety that dates back to the 1600’s. Aquilegia Ruby port is particularly beautiful with its fully double, spurless, rich wine red blooms opening in late spring to early summer. Rising with natural grace above ferny foliage emerging burgundy-maroon and aging to blue green. This aquilegia has a strong growth habit, is deer and rabbit resistant, and attracts hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden.

Plant in full sun to partial shade, in moist but well drained soil. Grows to heights of 2 feet with a spread of 2 feet. Ideal for beds and borders, gravel and rock gardens. it is not out of place in either formal or cottage gardens styles.
